Chantilly

Dinner is served.
The house remembers your conduct.

Carry dinner through courses, confidences and a toast, then follow the gentlemen to the smoking gathering and the ladies to the Music Room. The house reunites for private requests, a midnight bell, confessions and departures. Your order of attention, delay and choices shape each guest’s memory.

Actual Chantilly evening test gameplay in David's painted dining room, with guest and service choices
Actual rendered gameplay from this test edition. David’s original painted dining room, with the new eating poses.

Dinner in motion

The Butler walks the service aisle, lifts a silver cover and offers the dish. Guests rest, lift their forks, take a bite and lower their hands on separate cycles. Press View room or Tab to watch dinner in the original painted room.

The new voice cues use David’s supplied narration reference and the established guest voices for scene introductions, consequences, concerns and farewell variants. Captions remain available. Use Hear guest to replay a concern and Skip voice to advance its recording.

Six seconds of actual rendered gameplay. Silent development footage; the downloadable game includes speech and sound.

Linux received rendered-player checks. Windows and macOS were built from the same source but still need launch and play testing on their own operating systems. macOS is unsigned and may require approval in Privacy & Security. This test adds 40 painted serving/eating frames, 124 spoken cues and quiet service foley. Human artistic and listening acceptance remains open.

Hamza’s first run

  1. Open Play Evening Preview in the extracted folder. On Linux run ./Play-Evening-Preview.sh; on Windows open Play-Evening-Preview.cmd; on Mac open Play-Evening-Preview.command. The normal Chantilly executable starts the original arrivals route.
  2. Choose a guest, hear or read their concern and choose how to act. Watch the service and response. Attend everyone present to continue. Acting during a guest’s speech is recorded as an interruption; the separate Skip voice control advances its recording.
  3. Press R to inspect all eight relationships and their talent branches. Across the cast there are 384 nodes. Actions unlock them automatically; earned talents improve that guest’s later positive responses on the same branch, up to +3.
  4. At a scene change, walk through the house or use Go to [room]. Continue from dinner through the split gatherings, late-night incidents and eight farewells.
  5. Quit partway through a scene, then open Resume Evening. Guests already attended should stay attended. There is one local evening save slot; acting in a fresh evening replaces it.
  6. Try another route: change whom you attend first, how long you wait and how discreetly you handle the house’s troubles. Compare the farewells and talent branches.

What to look for

Report unexpected character scale changes, furniture covering the wrong person, blocked doors or floor destinations, unreadable text, mismatched dialogue, lost progress and consequences that feel unfair. Include the room, scene title and guest; a screenshot helps.

The focused engineering suite passed 73 tests. The development-player route completed 19 scenes and 144 guest choices, checked all eight eating cycles and preserved both a partial scene and completion through resume. A separate process-restart probe checks quitting during a dish handoff. These checks establish the tested route; they do not replace ordinary play, artistic or listening review.
